Communicating with our families

We believe that communication between families and our educators is crucial in the development and wellbeing of each individual child. Daily communication between parents/guardians and educators is an important part of our program. By sharing information concerning the child's activities and welfare we can work together to meet the child's individual needs. We aim to ensure frequent, effective communication and it is maintained by:

Encouraging parents to participate in the centre program at any time.

Tools of communication include:

  • Daily communication Books
  • Family pockets
  • Display Boards
  • Newsletters and handouts
  • Oral Communication
  • Developmental Records
  • Family Evenings
  • Suggestion Box
  • Child Portfolios

Our aim is for parents to be knowledgeable of their child's day at the centre, so that they can share in discussion with their child about how they spent their day.

To assist us in caring for your child in the best possible manner, we encourage partnerships with parents/guardians and families and the sharing of anything significant happening in their children's lives. This may be something fun you may have done on the weekend, or any great interests your child may have that week; for example, a fascination with aeroplanes, the human body or insects perhaps. This partnership will assist our carers in further expanding these interests and encouraging learning about these subjects that a child is stimulated by.
